I just sent this email:

Dear Apple, I give up making software for you app store. Your DUNS number requirement was the last straw. I’ve been waiting 2 months for this number and was told I need to wait another month (60 working days total) unless I pay a substancial amount of money. So, please, GO TO HELL.

I’ve been building this application for longer than I would like to admit. It looks nice. It is incredibly fast. It’s useful (I’ve been using it a LOT). I learned Objective-C while building it. It will never be a hit but some people would definitely pay the 2,99 USD I was planning to sell it for.

I love creating software, but make no mistake, I’m in this game for the cash - I even tried to sell all the source code, no luck. For love I would help Diaspora, Rails, Gnome and so many other projects that deserve love.

I love open source but I don’t have time to contribute to complex projects like Rails. So, the best I can do is to publish source code I built for my own company. Problem is, I work in the financial sector and nothing here is really broadly useful. Most of my code is based on government regulations and banking standards.  It happened once: I found out that pieces of a software I built was running in a large Bank. That’s nice, but they didn’t even fork the project or follow me on Github, that made me a little sad.

I don’t really have any specific goal with open sourcing this. But I hope this helps me making new friends, specially out the hell hole I’m stuck (financial).

That said, I attached some screenshots. The source code will become public as soon as all drawing tools (those white boxes on the tool bar) are functional. This should take some days (around 20-40 LOC per tool) I’m also trying to clean some some mess (lots on unused assets, etc)

Just follow me on github https://github.com/eduardordm or twitter @eduardordm and I’ll try to notify everyone when I make it public.
