UPDATE: My web series is back online. Thanks to everyone who helped me complain.

In November of last year, I launched my web series Conversations with a Twitter Feed hosted on YouTube. If you haven’t seen it, the web series features comedians talking to Twitter feeds. I’ve had guests that have also performed on Conan, Fallon, HBO, MTV, Comedy Central, Adult Swim, VH1, and others.
In the past few months, things sort of started to take off. The series was featured in BuzzFeed, then Tubefilter, and then Thought Catalog. A bunch of other publications have inquired about writing about us, as well.
Then, on Thursday 1/10, right after the Thought Catalog piece hit, I get this notice when trying to access my YouTube page:
This account has been terminated due to repeated or severe violations of our Terms of Service.Repeated and severe violations? There were no warnings. There was no explanation. This all came as a pretty big, disappointing surprise.
I filed a counter-notice appeal with YouTube and I’ve yet to hear back. I emailed their copyright representative and I’ve yet to hear back. My lawyer even faxed a counter-notice and we’ve yet to hear back. What I’d like to understand is what part of their Terms of Service the web series violated so I can fix it.
The series was doing good things for me. The series was doing good things for YouTube! Original content, celebrities, social media – these are the things I think they’d care about.
I’d like to have the YouTube account reinstated so I can continue to host the web series there. However, if I don’t hear back, I’ll move it to Vimeo or Blip.tv
If anyone has any advice, can help me out, or put me in touch with someone at YouTube to fix this, I’d appreciate it. My email is alexjmann@gmail.com
